Throughout the year, Interfaith Philadelphia offers a diverse array of internship opportunities to both undergraduate and graduate students from across the country to work with us. This summer we welcomed four new interns, all whom are passionate about grassroots interfaith work! Learn a bit about them below and see their full bios here. Meet Zev Zentner, Youth Programs intern! Z ev Zentner is a rising senior at Grinnell College. A Religious Studies major, they care deeply about interfaith action. Zev is a member of the Grinnell Religious Studies Student Education Policy Committee and they are the vice president of Chaverim, Grinnell’s Jewish Organization. “I’m so thrilled to be able to spend the summer at Interfaith Philadelphia. New Eyes: The Gift of Being a Walking the Walk Group Leader | by Marilyn Berberich

I love to collect quotes. Maybe it’s hereditary. My father kept a folded piece of paper with favorite quotes in his wallet. I stitched a quote quilt and hung it by my desk. One of my favorite quotes is by Marcel Proust – “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” When I stepped into the role of Walking the Walk Group Leader seven years ago, I envisioned wonderful afternoons of dialogue, meaningful service experiences, plentiful opportunities to learn about other faith traditions, and happy times building community with the amazing teens who had signed up for the program. What I didn’t realize was that I would also be getting new eyes. I would never see the world the same way after each Walking the Walk journey. So what does it mean to have new eyes? Donors Make November a Month for Giving Back

Celebrating our Best-Ever #GivingTuesday  November was exciting for Interfaith Philadelphia. Not only did we kick off our 20th Anniversary but we also celebrated #GivingTuesday (November 28, 2023) when we raised more than $4,600 in one day from generous donors. While overall national trends for #GivingTuesday showed a decrease in donors and donations, we attracted more new donors this year than ever before. What made this achievement even more special was the inclusion of program participants among the contributors, showcasing our community's deep commitment to our mission.  Giving Machines Raises Funds for Zones of Peace Another exciting initiative that contributed to our successful November was the Light the World Giving Machine MidAtlantic , sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
