Special Dialogue Through Music

On October 15, our group will participate in bringing
unique blessings of peace through music from Philly.
Tomorrow we depart for Istanbul, our first destination.   

 SPECIAL INVITATION:

 One of the features of our time in Israel will be two concerts by Philadelphia's musical giants, Udi Bar-David and Hanna Khoury,  Israeli and Palestinian classical musicians who play for peace.  

 This open concert at the YMCA in Jerusalem, with an Palestinian-Israeli youth chorus is free and open to the public.   Feel free to pass this along to anyone you know in Jerusalem.

10 Tips for Interfaith Dialogue

Interfaith dialogue can be a meaningful and enriching experience, allowing people of different beliefs and backgrounds to come together in conversation and understanding. However, at times it can also be challenging and uncomfortable.  To foster respectful dialogue, it's essential to approach conversations with an open and curious mindset.  Here are ten ways to be mindful in interfaith dialogue. Practicing these techniques can create a more compassionate and empathetic discussion that celebrates differences and promotes greater understanding. 1. BE CURIOUS: Ask questions with the intent to learn rather than from a place of judgment.  2. LEARN THE DETAILS: Ask questions like “What is the greeting you say with this holiday?” 3. ACKNOWLEDGE MISTAKES WHEN THEY HAPPEN: Mistakes are bound to happen; we are only human. Be sure to acknowledge them and apologize for any harm done.  4. With more than 275 people in attendance at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral, we honored Imam Dr. Quaiser D. Abdullah, The Reverend Jesse B. Garner, Marjorie N. Scharf, The Very Reverend Judith A. Sullivan, and the Walking the Walk Alumni and Partners - all of whom have been central to living our vision, and whose dreams will shape the future of interfaith work.
